LABMUNC VII is proud to announce our partnership with the Alsama Project.

Today, hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugee children in Lebanon are growing up without access to secondary education. Many have never stepped inside a classroom. Others have seen their education interrupted by war, displacement, and poverty. For too many, the future has already been decided for them.

Alsama refuses to accept that reality.

Based in Beirut, Alsama is an award-winning, women-led educational nonprofit that provides refugee youth with a second chance. Its students have survived war, ISIS occupation, forced displacement, child labour, and early marriage. Yet through education, they are becoming authors, athletes, artists, scholars, and community leaders.

The impact is extraordinary. Students who once could not read or write have gone on to win international competitions, represent their communities on the world stage, and earn scholarships to universities across the globe. One Alsama student fled ISIS and later won the World Historian Essay Prize. Another became a national ambassador for education. Another turned her own experience of interrupted schooling into a campaign against child marriage and gender-based violence.

This work has earned global recognition. This year, Alsama was named the winner of the inaugural Global Schools Prize, selected from more than 3,000 schools worldwide for its groundbreaking approach to education for displaced youth.

At Model United Nations, we spend hours debating refugee crises, access to education, gender equality, and human rights. This partnership is an opportunity to move beyond discussion and create tangible impact.

10% of LABMUNC VI's proceeds will be donated directly to the Alsama Project. Every committee session, every resolution, and every delegate at this conference will help provide educational opportunities for refugee students who have been denied them for far too long.

The issues we debate are not hypothetical. They are the lives of real people, and through this partnership, we have the opportunity to be part of a solution.
