What does LABMUNC stand for?

LABMUNC stands for the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Model United Nations Conference.

What do I need to bring to committee?

Delegates should bring at least one legal pad per person (two for crisis committees), as well as some post-it notes, proper attire (see below), and a good attitude!

What kinds of committees are at LABMUNC?

LABMUNC is proud to be hosting 26 Committees in total, including 11 General Assemblies, 7 Specialized Committees, and 8 Crisis Committees.

What is my position and how do I find it?

Positions will be sent to faculty advisors in September on a case-by-case basis after registration is completed. Delegates - check with your faculty advisors. 

Where can I find my background packet?

Background packets are posted under your committee page, which you can find through the “Committees” button at the top of the website. 

When will background packets be available?

Background packets will be attached to each committee page in September. 

Where should I go with a question about committee?

Questions about committee should be directed to your chair(s). You can find their emails in your committee’s background packet.

Are position papers required?

Position papers are required for all delegates at LABMUNC VII. Any delegate who does not submit a position paper will be moved down an award. For example, if the delegate were going to receive "Best", they would receive "Outstanding" instead. These should be submitted to the Google Form on the website.

Can I attend without my school?

Yes - independent delegations can register through the same process as school delegations on our registration page.

What is the dress code?

Delegates are expected to wear western business attire to committee.
