Approximate Size: 35 single delegate delegations
In this committee, delegates will tackle the multifaceted issue of wildlife trafficking. Despite significant international efforts, illegal wildlife trade remains a pervasive problem, driven by high demand for animal products such as pangolin scales, rhino horns, and shark fins. Delegates will explore innovative solutions to curb this trade, considering both enforcement measures and educational campaigns to reduce demand. The goal is to develop comprehensive strategies that address the economic, environmental, and societal impacts of wildlife trafficking on a global scale.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Bryce Poston, and I am very excited to be chairing the UNODC at LABMUNC this year. I am a sophomore, and I have been on LabMUN since my freshman year. My favorite part of the activity is seeing how much each delegate learns and grows from different committees over the course of their MUN career. In particular, I have learned how to become a better public speaker as well as help lead collaboratively with many types of people. Outside of MUN I play travel and high school baseball as well as high school soccer. I hope everyone in the UNODC and at LABMUNC V this year is able to properly collaborate with others, and come up with effective solutions to solve our worlds pressing problems. I hope everyone is as excited as I am, and I am looking forward to see you this December.
Best,
Bryce Poston
