Approximate Size: 50 single delegate delegations
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees protects refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people by providing aid during emergencies and ensuring their fundamental human rights. In this committee, delegates will discuss international displacement—a globally pressing issue. The international community comes together to review previous actions to combat this topic and determine the future steps required to mitigate it once and for all. Delegates will work collaboratively to propose future initiatives that will mitigate this issue for generations to come.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Saanvi Chitneni, and I am a sophomore with this being my second year on LABMUN. Outside of MUN, I am a member of the swimming team, and in my free time, I enjoy reading books and taking long walks with friends. I play the trombone, and I love listening to music as well. I am looking forward to chairing the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and I hope that delegates in this committee learn new, useful skills for leadership and collaboration.
Best,
Saanvi Chitneni
