In this committee, delegates will address the pervasive issue of sex trafficking and its impact on global communities. Despite international efforts and policies aimed at curbing this human rights violation, sex trafficking remains a critical and often overlooked problem. Delegates will explore strategies to enhance prevention, support victims, and improve global cooperation to combat this crime effectively. By developing comprehensive solutions, we can strive towards a world where sex trafficking is no longer a persistent threat.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Jessica Stainton-Simmons, and it is an honor to welcome you to this year's LABMUNC. I am so excited to be chairing UN Women! I am currently a Sophomore and this is my second year on the LABMUN team. I recently moved back to the US after living in London for two years. Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up the accent! Outside of MUN, I love to swim and play water polo. Model UN has been such an important part of my high school experience, it has helped me gain a comprehensive set of skills applicable beyond just MUN. It has also allowed me to meet and work with a variety of incredible people. My hope for everyone coming to this conference and more specifically this committee is that you will be able to practice effective collaboration, public speaking, and dissecting complex issues while also enjoying the experience. While I understand conferences can be stressful at times, I truly hope you are excited about LABMUNC! I look forward to meeting you all this December!
Best,
Jessica Stainton-Simmons
