Dear Delegates,
My name is Olin, and I've been doing MUN since 7th grade, and I've been primarily in crisis committees since I entered high school. I'm now a senior, and I am extremely excited to host the My Little Pony committee. Outside of Model UN, I'm one of the captains of Lab's Science Team, and I love to watch video essays on YouTube. I'm also very active on our school's newspaper, as one of the Editor-In-Chiefs of U-High Midway Photojournalism. This LABMUNC, I'm looking for creative solutions, but also for delegates to lean into the roles assigned to them, and try to find niches that their specific roles give them. Hopefully we can see some exciting debate, and everyone is able to leave LABMUNC confident in the knowledge that they were able to solve the problems of Equestria, at least for a little while.
I’m Valkyrie Laurence, a sophomore here at U-High. I’m your crisis manager for the My Little Pony Committee. I’ve been in MUN since the start of my freshman year, and it’s been a wonderful growth experience for me, teaching me numerous invaluable lessons and skills: I’ve gone from a shy and quiet person to a confident leader, fully comfortable with public speaking - MUN has helped me more than I imagined it could. It’s also taught me a lot about the current (and past) political climates of our world, and inserting myself into historical events with some . . . unique crisis arc will never fail to entertain me. Outside of MUN, I’m interested in creative writing, game design, and philosophy (particularly morality and ethics). I hope that this conference proves to be an engaging and educational experience for all you wonderful delegates, and that we all have a good time whilst practicing and honing our MUN skills.
Best,
Olin Nafziger and Valkyrie Laurence
