The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia(ICTY)
Approximate Size: TBD Single - Del The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia was a United Nations body established to prosecute those responsible for the war crimes that tore apart the region. Delegates must weigh the demands of justice against questions of political stability and the limits of international law. With the goal of ensuring lasting peace in newly independent nations, this body must be careful in its pursuit of accountability to prevent a repeat of the atrocities it seeks to condemn.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Husain Asif, and I am a sophomore at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I have been involved in Model UN since my freshman year, and I am very excited to chair the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia committee this year! Outside of MUN, I am on the school's cross-country team and am part of the journalism team here at Lab. As the chair of this committee, I plan to build an environment that promotes discussion and debate between delegates, but also collaboration in order to solve major global issues. I am extremely looking forward to joining you all for this experience at LABMUNC this December!
Sincerely,
Husain Asif
