Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM)

Dear Delegates, 

My name is Ilana Schopin, and I am thrilled to be chairing SOCHUM at LABMUNC this year! I am currently a junior at Lab, and have been a member of LABMUN for the past three years. My favorite thing about this activity is not just the leadership and speaking skills you develop, but the memorable experiences collected along the way. Outside of MUN, I am a part of the school volleyball team, run my own club, and give back to my community by working with women's shelters and soup kitchens! This committee is extremely meaningful to me, as it works to eradicate prominent social and cultural issues on a global scale. With an emphasis on diplomacy, I am confident that we can develop creative ideas, participate in meaningful discussions, and above all, have a lot of fun! I look forward to seeing everyone in December!
