Dear Delegates,
My name is Adi Potinii and I'm a Junior at the Laboratory School. I've been in Model UN for roughly over two years now, having started my journey in this activity as a freshman. One of my favorite aspects of MUN is the ability to understand and work with a diverse set of ideas to collaborate on one final product, especially in intensely fast paced environments like crisis committees. I will be chairing LABMUNC's Historical Crisis Committee under the topic of the Mongol Battle for Succession. Outside of MUN, I'm a member of Lab's audition concert choir, Bel Canto, and participate in various related Carnatic music associations outside of school. I hope that the delegates who attend LABMUNC this year will leave having a better understanding of important pieces of history and divisive contemporary topics, all while enjoying themselves in a friendly and collaborative environment.
My name is Austen Wu, and I will be your Crisis Manager for the historical crisis committee this year! I am a sophomore at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and have actively participated in the MUN program since eighth grade. My favorite part about being on LabMUN is the essential life skills the program teaches. I also enjoy the discussions and debates at each conference, allowing us to foster our leadership and cooperative skills. Having attended many conferences up to this point, I have realized the importance of communication and cooperation in MUN and real life. I also enjoy the discussions and debates at each conference, allowing us to foster our leadership and cooperative skills. Outside of MUN, I am the Principal Second Violinist in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. I also participate in our school's Student Council as a class Cultural Union. Participating at LABMUNC, I hope each and every one of you will take something away from this conference. Whether it be a new unmodding technique, a "Best Delegate" award, or a new life skill, I hope that every one of you will be able to contribute to this conference.
Best,
Adi Potinii and Austen Wu
