The World Health Organization focuses on improving health globally and responding to issues of public health around the world. In this committee, delegates will discuss the growing role of new technology in healthcare and both the challenges and opportunities they present. Delegates will work collaboratively to develop innovative solutions that encourage innovation while also ensuring the safety and privacy of patients. Depending on country policy and previous international actions, delegates will propose solutions to address the benefits and challenges of emerging healthcare technologies.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Jacob Garfield and I am a sophomore here at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I have been a part of Model UN for over a year now and I am very excited to be chairing the WHO this year. Outside of MUN, I am a member of the Junior Economics Club of Chicago, the captain of two sports teams at lab and an active volunteer around Chicago. As the chair of the WHO, I hope to create an engaging environment where delegates can collaborate and work towards feasible solutions surrounding new technology within the health world.
All the best,
Jacob Garfield
