The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime brings together UN member states to collaborate, negotiate, and debate solutions that extend beyond borders. In this committee, delegates will work to combat the rise of synthetic drugs, evaluating current initiatives to mitigate this globally pressing issue and discussing the next steps the international community must take. To achieve this, delegates must collaborate to create feasible and innovative solutions to reduce the detrimental effects of transnational organized crime on the dark web.

Dear Delegates,
My name is Kingston Zhao, and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I have been doing Model UN since the beginning of high school, and I am extremely excited to be chairing UNODC this year. Outside of MUN, I am on the varsity basketball team and play club outside of school. I am also part of the student council here at the lab. I hope to create a fun, engaging environment where delegates can work towards finding practical solutions to the issue at hand. As chair, I intend to promote thoughtful debate and respectful dialogue, creating an environment where delegates can challenge ideas constructively and gain valuable insights from one another.
