Dear Delegates,
My name is Rayan Omar, and I am a junior who has been involved in Model United Nations for three years. As one of the chairs of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) this year, MUN has made me passionate about discssing global issues, whether historical or current. My favorite aspect about MUN is the opportunity it provides to explore and debate these topics extensively. This year, I hope to guide delegates through an exploration of sustainable energy practices and leave the conference with a deeper understanding of the economic impacts and financial strategies behind environmental polices. I also hope to enhance everyones skills in negotiation and international collaboration, crucial for addressing today's complex global challenges.
My name is Sean and I am a Junior at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. I have been in MUN since my freshman year of high school and have enjoyed every second of it. Here at LABMUNC I will be chairing the ECOFIN committee. Beyond MUN, some of my hobbies include cross country, track, and programming- if anyone is interested in any of these activities too, feel free to talk to me about them during the breaks! One of my goals for this committee is for everyone to learn how to work with other delegates in a collaborative and productive mannor to effectivly solve the issues at hand. Beyond that, I hope that every delegate has the confidence to speak at least once throughout the committee session. Im looking forward to LABMUNC and am excited to meet everyone!
Best,
Rayan Omar and Sean Niro
