Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

Dear Delegates, 

My name is Maggie Colyer and I am honored to be chairing DISEC at LABMUNC this year. I am currently a junior at Lab and this is my second year as a LABMUN delegate. For me, MUN has been an incredible opportunity to grow my confidence as a public speaker, become more of a collaborative worker, and learn about the ever-changing world around me. As someone who has spent half of my life travelling across the country around military bases, DISEC is important to me because it addresses issues that I always wondered about during my mother’s deployments. Throughout our committee session, I hope to hear some creative yet feasible solutions to the topic at hand and see a collaborative working environment to develop a cohesive, thorough approach. Above all, I hope delegates will find the courage to try something new and have fun doing it!
