In this committee, delegates will consider the critical issues surrounding nuclear warfare and its impact on global security. Despite numerous treaties and efforts towards disarmament, the presence of nuclear weapons continues to pose a significant threat to international peace. Delegates will explore strategies to strengthen non-proliferation efforts and ensure the peaceful use of nuclear technology. Through collaborative debate, they will seek solutions to mitigate the risks associated with nuclear arsenals and promote global stability.
Dear Delegates,
My name is Gabriella Novak and I am so excited to be your chair. I am currently a sophomore at Lab and this is my second year as a LABMUN delegate. I think MUN is an incredible opportunity to grow not only as a public speaker and leader, but also as a critical thinker and a problem solver. Through relentless debates, collaboration between delegates, and drafting resolutions, to be a successful member of Model UN is to truly understand negotiation and diplomacy. Outside of MUN, I enjoy singing, playing piano, advocating for youth engagement in politics, playing chess with my family, and spending time with my dog! In this committee, through intensive research about your country’s perspectives and an emphasis on diplomacy and collaboration, I hope we will find effective solutions to some of the world’s most prominent issues and remain respectful of one another’s opposing beliefs.
Best,
Gabi Novak
