This committee will focus on the critical issue of population variability and demographic shifts, which have had profound impacts on countries worldwide. Overpopulation and underpopulation are pressing issues that significantly affect a nation's economy, health, and culture, creating an imbalance in the global population. Additionally, this topic impacts more than one country and creates global changes that impact even the most stable populations. Throughout history, there has been a large variation in population, but these demographic shifts are worth exploring and we urgently need solutions to stabilize economies, overall health, and the population.

Dear Delegates,
My name is Daniel Chang and I am honored to serve as your World Health Organization (WHO) co-chair and Under-Secretary-General here at LABMUNC V. I am currently a junior at Lab, and this is now my third year competing on the team. For me, MUN has given me some of the most memorable experiences of my life and has allowed for immense personal growth, which I hope you all can experience as well. Outside of MUN, I serve as the vice president for my grade, the varsity golf captain, and the editor-in-chief for the yearbook. I am looking forward to a committee of successful debate and unique solutions to address this nuanced and complex topic. See you in December!
My name is Kate Ryan and I am honored to serve as your Under-Secretary-General of LABMUNC V and one of your WHO co-chairs. I am currently a junior at Lab, with this being my third year in Model UN. Throughout my time as a MUN delegate, I have seen how much MUN has allowed myself and others to grow as people, something that I hope each one of you can gain from this activity as well. Outside of MUN, I am a member of the volleyball team, work in the theater makeup department, spend time with my friends and family, and teach kids at FORA. During your time in WHO and at LABMUNC V this year, I hope that you are all able to learn something new, no matter how long you have participated in this activity. I can’t wait to see everyone in December!
Best,
Daniel Chang and Kate Ryan
