The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools Model United Nations Conference (LabMUNC) is a one-day United Nations simulation with the purpose of training novice delegates while honing the Model UN skills of older delegates. At the fifth annual LabMUNC, first-year delegates will learn how Model UN works and will gain valuable knowledge about relevant topics in today's international sphere; experienced delegates will have the opportunity to improve their talents. Delegates will represent countries on two types of committees: larger General Assembly committees and medium sized ECOSOCs. Delegates will represent individuals or countries on smaller Crisis committees.
LabMUNC is hosted by the University of Chicago Laboratory High School's Model UN team. The team is entirely student run; the executive board consists of seven upperclassmen, who will form the Secretariat at LabMUNC this year. Our most experienced delegates will be directing committees and will be facilitating a high level of debate that is also accessible to beginners.
